Devourment - Molesting the Decapitated (1999)
This album is simply a slam death metal masterpiece. As a guitarist in a slam band I take a shit ton of inspiration from this album. Some of the most groovy yet brutal riffs and dick-melting breakdowns I have ever heard. The vocals are badass, too. Of course, they're the kind of vocals my dad will say, "I mean...I like it..?" to, so y'know. I mean, it's knuckle dragger shit; there's not much to say. It's as primitive as metal can get, and it doesn't need much explaining.

My favorite song on this album has honestly got to be Self Disembowelment. It has the dick-melting breakdowns and for some reason the pinch harmonics feel like I'm getting a lobotomy which is cool. Fucked to Death is a close 2nd because it shares those same properties, but most people say all slam sounds the same anyways, so who gives a fuck?
